How CaribSocial Announce Works
Announce helps you publish important information beyond your normal social feed. Promote an event, opportunity, business service, community notice, job, lost-and-found notice, or other important update and make it discoverable to the right CaribSocial audience.
What is Announce?
Announce is CaribSocial’s dedicated discovery space for important public notices, opportunities and updates. Unlike a normal post, which mainly appears in the social feed and is distributed through your network and recommendation signals, an announcement is organized for discovery by category, audience, location, topic and freshness. It can remain easy to find for the duration you select.
Who can publish?
Signed-in CaribSocial members who are eligible to use Announce can create an announcement. Publishing must follow CaribSocial’s Community Standards, applicable policies and Announce moderation rules.
Available categories
Choose the category that best describes your announcement. Categories can include events and parties, business and services, jobs and opportunities, community notices, lost and found, and other useful general announcements. The category helps people discover relevant information and should match the actual content.
Choosing your audience
Global is best when the announcement is useful regardless of location. Near You is intended for location-relevant notices, services, events and opportunities close to the viewer. Caribbean is for announcements intended for people across the Caribbean. Choose the narrowest audience that accurately matches who should see the announcement.
Topics
Topics are optional discovery signals that help describe what your announcement is about. Use a small number of accurate topics. People can follow topics, and followed topics can help shape their Following and recommended Announce results.
Pricing and duration
Announce is a paid publishing feature. Current standard durations are 7 days for $2.00, 14 days for $3.00 and 30 days for $5.00. The price and duration shown during publishing are the values that apply to your submission. CaribSocial may update pricing or available durations, so always review the final publishing screen before payment.
Review and moderation
After you submit an announcement, it may enter review before it becomes publicly discoverable. CaribSocial checks announcements for policy compliance, misleading or prohibited content, duplicate abuse and other moderation concerns. A submission can be approved, rejected, suspended or returned for changes when appropriate.
What happens after approval?
Once approved and active, the announcement can appear in Announce discovery surfaces such as For You, Global, Near You, Caribbean, Trending, Following and New, depending on its audience, relevance, location, freshness and other ranking signals. Its active duration begins according to the publishing rules shown when you submit.
Editing and managing an announcement
Open Manage announcements to see your announcements and their status, including drafts, pending review and running announcements where available. Use the management controls to review details and make supported changes. Some changes may require another moderation review so that approved content cannot be materially changed without checks.
Saved announcements and following
People can save announcements they want to return to. Following publishers or topics can also improve the Following view and help CaribSocial surface relevant Announce content. Saving or following does not guarantee that every announcement will be shown; relevance, eligibility and ranking rules still apply.
Publishing tips
Use a clear, specific title. Put the most important facts near the beginning. Choose the correct category, audience and location. Add only accurate topics. Include dates, times, requirements and contact details when they matter. Avoid duplicate announcements, exaggerated claims, misleading information, keyword stuffing and content that belongs in a normal social post rather than Announce.
