How to claim an existing Business Page
If a Business Page already represents your business, you can submit an ownership claim instead of creating a duplicate Page.
If a CaribSocial Business Page already represents your business but you do not manage it, you can submit a claim for review.
When should I claim a Page?
Use “Claim this business” when:
• The Business Page already exists on CaribSocial.
• You are the business owner or are authorized to manage the business.
• You can provide documents that support your ownership or authority.
Do not create a duplicate Page just because you do not currently manage the existing one.
How to start a claim
1. Sign in to CaribSocial.
2. Open the existing Business Page.
3. Open the More actions menu.
4. Select “Claim this business.”
5. Complete the business information.
6. Upload at least one supporting document.
7. Select “Submit claim.”
What information is requested?
The claim form can ask for:
• Legal business name.
• Business type.
• Country.
• Registration number, if available.
• Tax ID, if applicable.
• Business email.
• Phone number.
• Website.
• Supporting ownership or authorization documents.
What documents can I use?
Examples include business registration documents, tax certificates, government-issued business identification, or another official document that connects you or your organization to the business.
Accepted upload types include common image formats and PDF files. Individual files must stay within the upload size limit shown in the form.
What happens after I submit?
Submitting a claim does not transfer the Page immediately.
The request is sent to CaribSocial for review. An authorized reviewer can approve the claim, reject it, or request more information.
What happens if the claim is approved?
When an ownership claim is approved:
• Management ownership of the Business Page moves to the approved requester.
• Existing Page content stays in place.
• The approved claimed Page is marked verified.
• The new owner can manage the Page using their CaribSocial account.
What happens to the previous owner?
The previous owner is removed from the ownership role as part of the approved transfer.
What if my claim is rejected?
Review the reason or notes provided, correct the information if needed, and submit a new request with stronger or updated documentation.
How is this different from normal Business verification?
A verification request confirms a Business Page that you already manage.
An ownership claim is used when the Business Page exists but you do not currently control it.
Security note
Only authorized CaribSocial reviewers with verification permission can approve an ownership transfer.
