How Group membership questions work
Learn what to expect when a CaribSocial Group asks you to answer membership questions before joining.
Some CaribSocial Groups use membership questions to learn more about people who want to join.
When will I see membership questions?
You may see membership questions when:
• A Group admin has added one or more join questions.
• You select Join Group or Request to Join.
• You have already accepted any Group rules that are required.
How to answer membership questions
1. Open the Group you want to join.
2. Select “Join Group” or “Request to Join.”
3. If the Group has rules, review and accept them first.
4. If the Group has membership questions, answer each required question.
5. Select “Submit request.”
Required questions are marked with an asterisk (*). Optional questions can be left blank.
Who can see my answers?
Your membership-question answers are shown to the Group’s moderation team so they can review your request.
Other regular Group members do not see your answers through the join-request review tools.
What happens after I submit?
For Groups that require approval, your request is added to the Group’s Join Requests queue.
A moderator can review your profile information, when you submitted the request, and your answers to the Group’s membership questions.
The moderator can then approve or reject the request.
What happens if I am approved?
If your request is approved, you become a member of the Group and can access member-only content according to the Group’s privacy settings.
What if I see “Open this group to answer its membership questions”?
This message can appear when you try to join from a recommendation or discovery card. Open the Group itself, then complete the membership questions there.
What if a required question is missing an answer?
CaribSocial will not submit the request until all required questions are answered.
What if the Group has no membership questions?
The normal join flow continues. Public Groups may allow immediate joining, while private or hidden Groups may still require moderator approval.
