Developer API permissions, quotas and safe write retries
Use Developer API permissions correctly, understand Production and Sandbox quotas, and retry writes safely.
The CaribSocial Developer API enforces app permissions, environment isolation and request quotas.
Permissions
A developer app can request supported permissions, but production access is limited to permissions approved for that app. Sandbox uses the app's Sandbox permissions and remains isolated from live production data.
Quotas
CaribSocial applies per-app request limits. The current standard limits are:
• Production: 120 requests per minute per app.
• Sandbox: 300 requests per minute per app.
If a request is rate limited, wait before retrying and use the Usage page to review activity.
Safe writes with Idempotency-Key
For supported third-party write requests, send an Idempotency-Key. If a network timeout occurs, retry the same request with the same key.
CaribSocial stores write idempotency protection for 24 hours. Reusing the same key for a different request can return HTTP 409 Conflict.
Troubleshooting
Open My Apps > View usage to review request counts, failures, rate limiting and error categories. API health information separates Production and Sandbox.
Never put access tokens, webhook signing secrets or other credentials into public logs or screenshots.
